A
California native, I was born and raised
in LA by parents who taught me that being
healthy is a fulltime job. Thirst for
a satisfying answer to the question "why?"
led me to study Eastern philosophy and
after graduating from UCSD with a degree
in Biological Anthropology, the still
desperate need to understand the "self"
led me to study healing arts, massage
therapy and yoga. I started training with
Kali Ma in early 2001 and very soon after
joined the first MSD practice house. Within
a year I was working for Kali Ma and Derrick
at their yoga center and have been a full
time staff member ever since. Kali Ma,
Derrick and the teachings of Dharma and
Ayurveda they offered were so inspiring
that I took every training offered and now certified as a Hatha Yoga and Meditation Instructor and Pancha Karma Therapist.
I am the Manager of our Panchakarma Clinic and train PK Technicians along side Derrick.
I currently
live as a full time MSD staff member at
the Trigug Retreat Center in the Santa Cruz Mountains with
my teachers, best friends and co-workers, sweetheart CJ, and strange
yet cuddly kitty - BearBear. Years of
volunteer service has afforded me many
various skills such as event coordination,
health clinic management, advertising
and website maintenance, and the ability
to drive a 9 passenger van in Manhattan
traffic. However, the most important and
rewarding skill I have learned from my
training is how to have authentic relationships.
After years
of dreaming about moving to paradise,
somehow I have found myself right smack
in the middle of it within all of my relationships.
I feel incredibly blessed that I have
found Paradise... in my guru's grace,
in my little cabin with my closest friend
and lover, in the vivid faces of the community
of truth seekers, in the morning frittata
breakfast as well as the compost pile,
in the pristine towering redwoods and
the sci-fi channel. Paradise is now the
passionate place in my heart-mind where
work, play, desires, responsibility, growth
and non-duality all intersect in a dynamic
and messy glory.
