Community
The MahaSiddha Tradition places a great value
on spiritual community, and the important role
these relationships have in one's growth and
understanding of the teachings. There are a
lively and unpredictable variety of challenges
and nourishment that come from having connections
with others who are on the path.
Membership
Membership is a great first step or next step
for people who are interested in engaging the
MahaSiddha Dharma. Community Membership gives
the opportunity for participants to take part
in the creative energy of MahaSiddha Dharma
through monthly pledges and to further involvement
in the teachings and community. Community Members
are not required to take refuge, to take vows,
or to make the Vajra Commitment wherein Kali
Ma is their root teacher. On the contrary, some
community members are actually students of other
Masters who are no longer alive or who are not
near enough in location for continuous engagement.
Community Members may also be people who are
sincerely enthusiastic about the MahaSiddha
Dharma but are not personally interested in
having a root-teacher, or who are tentatively
exploring the meaning of that relationship.
Or they are students of other Masters who simply
find the MahaSiddha Dharma Mandala teachings
compelling.
Benefits
of Community Membership
Specific activities and teachings are only available
to Mandala Members. Also members at the community
level receive discounts on programs, access
to private meetings with Kali Ma when she is
available in town, access to private events
for the Mandala led by Kali Ma, email updates
when Kali Ma makes surprise appearances, letters
to the Mandala from Kali Ma on occasion, and
an email address at MahaSiddhaDharma.org
Community
Membership is the Foundation
All the members of the Mandala begin as Community
Members. Community Membership for at least six
months is required before one can apply for
Vajra Sangha Membership.
Membership
Dues
MahaSiddha Dharma is supported through the generosity
of volunteers, donations and contributions.
The entire Mandala contributes to make our work
manifest. Membership dues support the operating
costs of our organization which includes phones,
insurance, advertising, facilities and more.
Membership is one of the ways to connect more
deeply with our work, and help sustain our activities
through financial commitment. Contributions
directly further the precious teachings you
have received and actualizing the Vision,
Purpose and Mission. Finances are never
an obstacle to membership, contact our registrar
for more information.
How
to Become a Community Member
Community Membership is open to the public through
registration and monthly dues. People may also
become Community Members by becoming residents
of our residential dharma centers (Gompas) via
application, or by becoming
a Patron of MahaSiddha Dharma and Kali Ma.
The monthly commitment is a suggested donation
of $54-108 which goes to support the operating
budget of MahaSiddha Dharma and which is automatically
deducted from members’ accounts. No one
is excluded from membership for lack of funds,
other arrangements besides pledges are worked
out according to each individual’s situation.
Participants of the 108
Tantric Buddhas Fundraising who donate $1800
or more are also gifted one year of community
membership.
