The six realms describe the six reality habits
or un-enlightened mind states that compose cyclic
existence in unconscious confusion and suffering
(samsara). Karmic patterns and mistaken reality
only manifest because they are not recognized as
such and are taken to be reality, or who we are,
or who the others in the situations are. However
the six realms teachings reveal these patterns,
how and why they arise. Especially they point to
the way that spirituality can be distorted by dualistic
complexities so that one's spiritual work ends up
supporting egoic neurosis rather than dissolving
it. Through studying these teachings and receiving
this transmission, students are able to recognize
the nature of their own mind, neurosis and the pure
awareness underlying it. It is an experience that
changes the way you look at your mind, your life
and your spiritual practice and illuminates the
brilliant sanity underlying insanity.
