The Path - Methods

In MahaSiddha Buddhism, the primary method for awakening to our Buddha-nature and finding our awareness is the View, or the way that we see our mind, our self, others and life itself.

The View is a particular broadening of our perspective, where we see what we previously could not, beyond our preconceptions about self, others and reality. Through the path, we expand to experience aspects of what we are that do not fall into the tidy definitions of "Self" that we may have carried our whole lives. We perceive life more directly instead of through the filter of our habits and conditioning. We see from new points of view and ultimately the vast View presented to us by the Buddhist teachings. What we discover, as our View opens up before us is non-duality; the vibrant interplay of all that is.

When mind opens up to see through Non-dual View, it becomes possible to transform our entire lives into the path of awakening because we are transforming the very nature of how we perceive our world and therefore how we experience our lives.

To emphasize the realized View of non-duality as the base, path and fruit is the style of the Dzogchen approach of the MahaSiddhas. The View intertweaves with Tantric methods for transforming our state. Since there are times when we feel as if we are stuck outside awareness, more gross methods can applied. These methods include physical practices, visualization methods, Inner Yogas, mantras and more. They can also extend into methods of conduct; how we act and make decisions in our lives.
